| Developed right here at Park Seed by our own Dr. Jim Alston, Mandevilla Janell (and its "sister", Leah) is just about the hottest thing in horticulture! We refined this wonderful flowering vine for years before introducing it to the public -- in fact, not until it bloomed through a drought, heat wave, insect invasion, and total neglect for two weeks one blazing-hot summer did we realize what a treasure we had on our hands! Janell not only kept blooming during this crisis, it THRIVED! Even if conditions in your garden aren't so harsh, you'll love the tough, rough-and-ready growth habit and abundant bloom of this semi-tropical vine. Asking only well-drained, ordinary potting soil, Janell takes off, its glossy, evergreen leaves rapidly growing on vines that reach 7 to 10 feet tall in a single season! And scattered throughout the foliage -- far more profusely than on other Mandevillas -- are literally hundreds of 5-inch, wide-open blooms, which open mid-pink and quickly darken (with the advent of warm weather) to rich rosy-red. Blooming from early summer till frost, they put on an extraordinary show in the patio, poolside, or any large container. The best flowering and deepest color is achieved in full sun, but Janell can tolerate some shade. It's easy to overwinter indoors for another year of glorious bloom -- we include simple instructions with your order! And it's hardy all year in zones 9-11. Mandevilla Janell is available only from Park Seed. Try this high-performer and you'll see why we're so proud of our creation! |
