Single, 1 1/4- to 1 1/2-inch blooms have a large golden eye surrounded by tightly-spaced petals of rich mahogany-red. Wider at the tip than the base and slightly notched, the petals form a frilly circular shape. They arise at the end of stems, hiding the foliage in full bloom.
