| These mini Irises are so delightful, appearing in mid- to late spring on sturdy stems you can cut for the vase, but also looking great on the garden floor among the other spring-blooming bulbs. Appearing in every color of the rainbow (including many bi-colors), they are far and away the brightest jewels in the early-season sunny garden.
Although hardy only in zones 8-10, Dutch Beauty Mix is grown across the U.S. in containers that can be overwintered in frost-free areas. No bulb is easier, reappearing year after year with little attention from you! And after several seasons, these bulbs (actually tubers) can be divided to increase your garden's spring beauty!
The blooms appear atop stiff, strong stems for up to 3 weeks, a nice interlude during the season of Tulips, Hyacinths, and other mid- to late-spring bulbs. They thrive even in less-than-ideal soil, and are not bothered by most pests and diseases. Just 20 inches high (in bloom) and 6 to 9 inches wide, they look their best in a concentrated planting (as shown in our photo), but can also be scattered throughout the sunny garden like Easter eggs. Our mix contains 40 bulbs, assuring you of the full range of colors and looks. And the Iris you plant this season will continue to please for many years to come! Gardening doesn't get any easier than this! Zones 8-10. |
