| One of the most popular Poppies in Europe, Pizzicato is an incredibly profuse, giant-flowered Oriental type with such strong stems that they can withstand the windiest sites! Immense 6- to 8-inch blooms, saturated with color and all boasting a deep black eye, open on vigorous, heavy-blooming 18- to 24-inch plants. The color range includes white, pale pink, rose, salmon, and scarlet--all long-lasting and intensely bright in the garden or vase. Over the May and June bloom season, each plant produces up to 20 magnificent blooms! And the plants are very uniform, making them a great choice for a large planting. Pizzicato won the Fleuroselect Gold Medal in 1995, and is the Poppy of choice for bloom power, size, and wind resistance! This Poppy does best in areas where summers are not humid and the soil is well-drained. Best if sown direct. Pkt is 100 seeds. |
