Brassy Scarlet-and-White Bicolor -- A Descendant of the Renowned Black Prince!
Plant blooms from early spring onwards in the South and from summer to fall in the North.
One of the most striking Snapdragons we have ever seen, Night and Day is a bold study in contrast. The deep scarlet blooms shade almost into black, revealing their parentage (the famous heirloom Snap, Black Prince) and highlighting the pure white of the lower "jaws." Absolutely stunning in the bed or border, this vibrant, brilliantly beautiful Snap deserves a place of honor in the garden!

The plant grows 18 inches tall and about a foot wide, blooming in spring and fall in warm climates and all summer in cooler ones. The blooms have a strong spicy scent and arise very abundantly on robust plants. For an interesting effect, try interplanting Night and Day with its parent, Black Prince, which has deep crimson blooms and bronze foliage (and is the same plant size).

If you have never "snapped" a Snapdragon, here is how to do it: You'll notice that the blooms form two separate cupped clusters that meet in the middle, like jaws. Gently squeeze the sides of the jaws, and the two clusters will separate, just like a mouth opening. The space is just the right size for a child's finger to poke into the dragon's mouth. Release the bloom and the jaws "snap" closed!

Seeds may be direct-sown or started indoors for earlier blooms. Snaps are cool-season annuals that bloom in spring and fall in warm areas, summer in colder climates. In very warm locations they may winter over if mulched. They do best in full sun to light shade. Pkt is 200 seeds.
