| Shhh -- this fantastic new Geranium isn't really a picotee, but your admiring friends don't have to know that! The large, bright blooms in 5 colors have such a huge white eye that the color is "edged" around the tips of the petals, looking for all the world like a picotee! You'll have plenty of time to study these beautiful blooms, too, because they are among the earliest- and longest-blooming Geraniums in the world! Horizon Picotee Hybrid Mix is a totally new look for Pelargoniums, and it's got the vigor and flower power to back up its pretty face! In our trial gardens here in South Carolina, it sprang up a week or two sooner than others, then outlasted them all through extreme heat, drought, and rain as the summer progressed. This is an excellent Geranium for the garden -- it's tough enough to take whatever Nature chooses to dish out! But its blooms are so drop-dead gorgeous, you'll want to pot it up for up-close enjoyment, too! What a nice problem to have -- a Geranium that looks great everywhere! The flowers are just 1 to 1½ inches across, but they are borne by the dozen in 4- to 4½-inch heads. Colors include cherry, red, rose, salmon, and violet, all pushed to the edges of the petals by the large, crisp white "eye"! Banked by large, soft-textured foliage with great zonal (dark) markings, this Geranium is stylish, yet equally at home in the chaotic annual bed or the formal patio! And now there are two more Horizon varieties to enjoy -- Orange Ice and Red Ice, with big 5-inch blooms on slightly more compact plants! Sow the seed indoors in late winter, and pinch the young plants as they grow to encourage more side-shoots and better branching. Pkt is 10 seeds. |
