Super-easy to Grow and So Fragrant!
Spreads freely in the garden, the perfect groundcover for sunny spots.
Treat yourself to a legacy plant for garden and home! 'Kentucky Colonel' is a classic variety of spearmint, vigorous and flavorful. You can grow a pot or two in the kitchen during winter to use as flavoring and to perfume the air, but you should also set a few outdoors to spread quickly into a glorious groundcover colony! It's easy, fragrant, and fast!

These chartreuse to light green leaves are packed with rich, spicy flavor, and so aromatic that you will smell them long before you see them. In summer they're topped by small blooms that open lilac, then turn pale pink and finally white. Cut them off to encourage better branching or let them remain on the plant, where they will attract butterflies and bees to the sunny garden.

'Kentucky Colonel' is ideal for containers, where its free and rapid growth can be restrained a bit, and where you can enjoy its zesty fresh scent up close. it covers ground densely, choking out weeds and keeping soil moisture from evaporating. And in the veggie patch, it's a great pest-fighter, keeping nibbling creatures at bay while attracting beneficial bees and wasps. You can't beat it for natural protection.

If you love Mint, pair 'Kentucky Colonel' with Peppermint 'Chocolate.' Both are delicious in drinks and cuisine, and no plants are easier to grow in full sun and any moist soil. They even stand up to heat and drought effortlessly! Zones 5-9.
