'Rose to Lime' does just what its name promises, beginning spring with deep rosy-red leaves edged in lime green. As the summer heat arrives, the rosy tones turn cream and the green spreads inward. What fun--a patio or garden plant that looks a little different every week!
This plant reaches about 22 to 24 inches high and spreads up to 24 inches wide. As with all Coleus, it makes a splendid houseplant as well as an outdoor choice, and is adaptable to garden or container. What a great choice for a combination planting, its red-centered leaves adding much-needed spring color to the display, while its cream and green summer tones yield the spotlight to the colorful blooms of summer-flowering annuals!
'Rose to Lime' will eventually flower, but the bloomstalks can be pinched off at once to avoid detracting from the beauty of the foliage. (They make good filler in large bouquets.) Expect it to continue its vigorous, healthy growth all summer and until the first hard frost of fall--or year-round indoors, where you can set it in a sunny window or low-light setting. All this Coleus asks is well-drained soil; it dislikes too much fertilizer, making it even easier to keep up with!
