The blooms arise in big 6-inch clusters of bright golden trumpets with darker throats and a very full, rounded look atop sturdy stems. The foliage is lush and lovely, with erect 12-inch dark green leaves framing the flowerhead. Once it begins blooming, Clivia is very long-lived and seldom needs repotting (it likes being potbound!). Thriving in the low light of the home, it is perhaps the finest houseplant ever! Blooms begin in late winter and continue into early spring. We ship seed in May.
