Exquisite Color Pattern!
Just 10 inches high, with huge blooms.
The combination of icy pale blue and deep violet-indigo is very dramatic on this Dwarf Bearded Iris, making the flowers stand out even more on compact yet vigorous plants. 'Ice and Indigo' flowers in midseason, and is a good companion to other Dwarf Beardeds in garden or vase, as well as to Roses. Just 10 inches high, this Dwarf Bearded Iris is quite longlasting in the sunny garden. Like their taller cousins, these Irises will not only bloom over a generous season in early summer, but will be back in greater number next year, and can even be divided after 3 to 5 years for even more color accents in the garden. Bearded Iris grows easily in sunny, well-drained soil of almost any type. Once established, it is quite tolerant of drought, and is impervious to most pests and diseases. Left alone, it will multiply, and should be divided (a simple process!) to keep the flowering at its peak. Ideal in borders, beds, as accents among perennials and shrubs, and as mass plantings in the meadow or woodland landscape. Fine for containers of all types, too! Space plants 6 to 8 inches apart. Zones 3-8.
