Bearded Iris 'Cloud Ballet'
Iris x germanica 'Cloud Ballet'
Bearded Iris 'Cloud Ballet': Sky-blue blossoms edged in white on 34-inch stems.
Lightly fragrant and prepared to rebloom, these sky-blue blossoms are perfect for cutting as well as garden enjoyment.

Two Seasons of Glory Every Year!
Winner of an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society!

'Cloud Ballet' is a joy of an Iris, with sky-blue blossoms edged in white, subtly fragrant and very heavily borne in midseason. After the season passes and summer is on the decline, the blooms arise again, presenting a generous show just when the garden needs color the most!

These flowers are pure sky-blue with white "clouds" at the petal tips, a highly-prized combination in garden or vase. They arise on 34-inch stems during the height of Bearded Iris season, giving you ample opportunity to cut all you like for indoor arrangements. Their second bloom is less crowded, a treat for the garden!

Introduced by Lyle Fort in 1988, 'Cloud Ballet' was awarded an Honorable Mention by the American Iris Society in 1993, and it's easy to see why. The fragrance, superb color, and terrific rebloom strength all combine to make it indispensable to Iris lovers everywhere!

The 34-inch stems are quite longlasting in the sunny garden, but you may find yourself cutting them to enjoy their distinctive look at even closer range! Luckily, they will not only bloom over a generous season in early summer, but will be back in greater number next year, and can even be divided after 3 to 5 years for even more color accents in the garden.

Bearded Iris grows easily in sunny, well-drained soil of almost any type. Once established, it is quite tolerant of drought, and is impervious to most pests and diseases. Left alone, it will multiply, and should be divided (a simple process!) every 5 years or so to keep the flowering at its peak. Ideal in borders, beds, as accents among perennials and shrubs, and as mass plantings in the meadow or woodland landscape. Fine for containers of all types, too!

Space plants 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 feet apart (to give them room to spread). Zones 3-8.
