One of the Most Floriferous of All!
Unusual tones of deep orange with brown veins and golden highlights.
A far and delightful cry from the small, single-flowered orange Daylily of the past, this stupendous giant double is tirelessly floriferous, tossing up new buds nonstop at the height of the season. Very vigorous, adaptable from north to south, and boasting elegant brown and gold highlights, 'Doubleicious' is a rare and exciting find for the sunny garden. These flowers are very large, with a distinctive triangular shape and more ruffled, twisted petals than you would expect, giving them a layered look. They appear in midsummer, just when most Daylilies are flowering their mightiest, and they continue ceaselessly for many weeks on plants 26 inches high and about 20 inches wide. The deep orange base color is stroked with cinnamon-brown veining and flashes of gold, creating a very bright look that combines especially well with white-flowered perennials in the sunny border. 'Doubleicious' is very free-flowering, each plant yielding armloads of blooms. Daylilies are one of the easiest perennials to grow, very low maintenance and willing to put up with extreme conditions from heat and humidity to drought and cold. They tolerate less-than-perfect soil, and ask only to be divided every few years to maintain their flowering vigor and multiply their beauty into new plants! A superb choice for busy gardeners, they tolerate partial shade but bloom most heavily in full sun. Don't miss the excitement of colorful, petal-packed 'Doubleicious' in your own landscape! Zones 3-9.
