Penstemon 'Pink Dawn':

A Super-Floriferous Dwarf!
All the beauty of full-sized Penstemon, and so compact it's perfect for containers and small spaces.

Foxglove Beardtongue is a native plant, and 'Pink Dawn' by far its most beautiful selection. The great rows of dangling open-mouthed bells cluster thickly on all sides of these stems, the flowers opening freely from spring into summer. A great flower for cutting as well as a charming garden presence (butterflies and hummingbirds adore it), 'Pink Dawn' brings one of our favorite native perennials into today's smaller gardens.

'Pink Dawn' is just 18 to 24 inches high in full bloom, and not more than 18 inches wide. The bloomwands are sturdy and absolutely jammed with soft pink blooms tipped in white and merrily freckled dark red on the interior -- bearing a strong resemblance to Foxgloves, which explains their species name of digitalis. Left alone by insects and other pests, they absolutely flourish in any sunny, well-drained soil. Try them alongside Bellflower 'Summertime Blues' or in front of brilliant fuchsia Bee Balm 'Coral Reef.' Now you can have an appealing, vibrant hummingbird or butterfly garden in half the space!

'Pink Dawn' is so easy that even novice gardeners are successful in growing its plentiful blooms. Give it a try in low maintenance areas and see for yourself just how trouble-free this native beauty really is! Zones 3-8.
