A Miniature Treasure, with 4 Colors on Every Tiny Leaf!
Forget the big, spreading Bugleweeds you may be used to -- this one is a neat little rosette just 6 inches wide!
Plant Patent Applied For. The most spectacularly colored Bugleweed ever grown, 'Dixie Chip' is a miniature wonder, with up to 4 colors on every leaf and a neat, perfect starburst shape! A far cry from the spreading form of larger varieties, it is a perfect dwarf, sporting pink, gray, and yellow tones among the olive-green. Very easy to grow and evergreen in warm climates, it is a tiny jewel every garden deserves. Morning sun and afternoon shade are best for bringing out all the colors on these dainty leaves, which keep their green midrib and sometimes a dark green edge, but can -- and do -- turn all shades everywhere else. Just 3 inches high and 6 inches wide, this is a plant to show off in containers, but it also makes a charming edging along a path, outlining a bed or border, or in an accent planting. A large group planting is terrifically colorful, but even a handful of plants brighten up any setting. And in spring and early summer, the foliage is topped by blue blooms that last for many weeks! Bugleweed is one of the easiest ground covers, and today's range of colors and looks have made it even more desirable for the garden. Take a look at 'Black Scallop,' with smoky purple foliage and a quick-spreading habit. 'Dixie Chip' is very different in habit and form, but it has the same terrific tolerance of adversity and garden vigor. This is a plant to rely on, never needing to be coddled to bring out its lovely colors and stay neat and small. We highly recommend this miniature treasure! Zones 4-9.
