Coneflower 'Fatal Attraction' PP#18,429
Echinacea purpurea 'Fatal Attraction' PP#18,429
Coneflower 'Fatal Attraction' PP#18,429: Single magenta-fuchsia petals, upturned for a daisy-like look on nearly black stems. Plant reaches 26 inches tall, 12 inches wide.
Marvelously fragrant, this delightful bloom attracts butterflies in the summer, songbirds in the fall!

Stunning Magenta-Fuchsia Color!
Compact and easy to grow!

Plant Patent #18,429.

Neon-bright petals of magenta make this new Echinacea stand out from way across the garden! An exciting variety combining a compact size with lots of flower power, terrific fragrance, and an entirely new color, 'Fatal Attraction' lives up to its name -- it's utterly irresistible!

These petals are actually upturned (instead of the downturned type that older Echinaceas sport) for a big show. They surround a large central cone that becomes important to the plant in autumn, when the petals drop and the seeds dry within the cone, bringing songbirds into your garden to feast. And the entire flower is held on a nearly black stem -- utterly unique in the Coneflower family!

'Fatal Attraction' is also more fragrant than other Coneflowers, with a sweet scent that is the essence of high summer in the garden. Expect the flowers to begin during the hottest weeks of summer and to continue until the season ends. Coneflower is a "cut-and-come-again" bloomer, so the faster you pick or deadhead the blooms, the quicker new buds arise to take their place! And this is a good choice for the vase, with strong stems and great holding power after cutting.

Just 26 inches high and spreading about a foot wide, 'Fatal Attraction' makes a nice front-of-the-border display, especially facing down taller varieties such as Sundown. It makes a fine companion to other perennials that love hot, slightly dry conditions, such as Sedum and Spurge. Give it plenty of water and food the first year, then let it grow as it will, and you will find it very resistant to stress from heat, humidity, drought, poor soil, and even cold! Echinacea is a native American plant, and it finds itself right at home in our gardens! Zones 4-8.
