Hosta 'Dancing in the Rain' PP#15,977
Hosta 'Dancing In The Rain' PP#15,977
Hosta 'Dancing in the Rain' PP#15,977: 32-inch-tall, 48-inch-wide foliage plant with thick white leaves with blue-green margins and insignificant lavender flowers on 40-inch stems.
Each leaf is distinctively different!

Slugs Won't Take a Bite of These Leaves!
Improves with each passing year!

Plant Patent #15,977

Here is the ideal plant for the shade border, shady walk, or other large setting in need of some carefree color. Nearly 3 feet tall and a full 4 feet wide, it's a stately presence that remains colorful from spring till frost, and improves in texture with each passing year. And if snails and slugs have nibbled Hostas in your garden, rest assured that they will leave 'Dancing in the Rain' alone.

The leaves are wide, wonderfully teardrop-shaped, and exceptionally thick, which is the secret to keeping those nibbling pests at bay. With each year they grow more substantial and formidable, their neat vertical "quilting" increasing beautifully and their wide blue-green edges standing out prominently. The large white center is quite showy, but expect it to green out a bit in extreme heat or too much sun. If this happens, relocate it to a more shady location and it will keep its pristine white!

A sport of the famous Hosta 'Blue Umbrellas', 'Dancing in the Rain is on one of the very best for size, color, and texture. Each leaf is patterned differently, and a mature plant is a delightful riot of blue-green streaks and shades. Very easy to grow, it can be divided into new plants every few years, or left to mature gracefully. Good companions include Heuchera, and other Hostas. But 'Dancing in the Rain' is also impressive by itself in a large planting along a shaded walk or cutting a riboon of color through the shade border!

This plant reaches 32 inches tall and about 48 inches wide, with unexciting lavender flowers arising from the center of the plant in midsummer on 40-inch stems. We highly recommend it for garden or large container! Zones 3-9.
