Description / Caladium 'Mint Julep' Bulbs
Caladium 'Mint Julep' is a tender perennial, summer flowering bulb, grown for its dramatic, long-lasting foliage that adds color and texture to the garden, summer into fall. A fancy leaved variety, 'Mint Julep' has large, heart-shaped leaves on long petioles. Beautifully variegated, the showy leaves have a pink heart and veins and a broad green margin.
Caladium 'Mint Julep' has a clumping habit. It performs well in beds, borders, and containers, indoors or outdoors. It's also an excellent option for an underplanting.
Extremely easy to grow, caladiums are tropical plants that thrive in warm temperatures with high humidity. 'Mint Julep' grows best in shady to dappled sun locations with fertile, organically rich, consistently moist, well-draining soil, having an acidic pH. The plant benefits from monthly fertilization. It is heat tolerant.
