Plant Boysenberry Delight, a blend of high-stemmed tulips, in early to mid-fall, and in mid-spring these spring ephemerals bloom in a mix of purple flowers and white flowers with pink accents. Borne on long, sturdy stems, the large flowers make excellent cuts for spring bouquets.
Boysenberry Delight varieties have an upright habit. They naturalize easily, with their sprawling clumps of narrow, linear foliage and showy blooms, appearing year after year, possibly for decades, in ideal conditions. Best planted in groups, Boysenberry Delight makes an excellent ground cover, especially useful for erosion control in spring rains, and it mixes well with other spring-blooming bulbs. Consider planting in large sweeping drifts in open woodland areas, in smaller groupings in beds and borders or in front of shrubs, or in masses under deciduous trees. They also make great container plants and can be forced for cheery indoor blooms in winter.
Boysenberry Delight Blend varieties, cold hardyto Zone 3bulbous perennials, are easy to grow and maintain. The plants grow best in sunny locations with average to fertile, well-draining soil, having a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Originating in mountain climates, the flowers are resilient and bloom well in temperate climates with moderate rainfall, so, they only need to be watered during periods of exceptional drought.
