Description / Trillium grandiflorum White
Trillium grandiflorum, also called great white trillium, is a sought-after white trillium featuring elegant large blooms. Compact at 6 to 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide, this spring-blooming, native wildflower produces outward-facing terminal flowers with 3 wavy white petals that develop a soft blush over time, each crowning a graceful stem and whorl of 3 ovate leaves.
Perfect for naturalizing, great white trillium thrives in shaded gardens with well-draining, organically rich soil. This hardy perennial (Zones 3-9) forms lasting clumps over time, pairing beautifully with ferns under trees or between shrubs. Requiring little care once established, it's ideal for pollinator-friendly spaces.
Plant great white trillium roots in spring, 12 inches apart and 2 inches deep. Native to North America, this plant supports biodiversity, thrives with minimal intervention, and creates a vibrant and eco-friendly garden. Unfortunately, wild great white trillium populations are now endangered, but you can contribute to their preservation by adding them to your garden. Our nursery-grown plants are exclusively propagated commercially and never taken from their natural habitats.
