Description / DoubleShot™ Mix Snapdragon Seeds
DoubleShot™ Mix Snapdragon Seeds contains short-lived tender perennials (Zones 7-10), that are typically grown as cool-season, half-hardy annuals. Strong and heavily branched, these intermediate-height snapdragons reach a mature size of 18 to 20 inches tall and 12 to 14 inches wide and bloom all summer long, often to first frost. Borne on sturdy, wind-resistant stems, the romantic open-faced double flowers appear in a mix of soft, dusky, warm colors, including appleblossom, crimson red, orange bicolor, peach, and yellow. The long-lasting spikes make excellent cut flowers for floral arrangements. Left in the garden, the pollinator-friendly flowers attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial pollinators.
F1 Antirrhinum majus varieties, commonly called snapdragons, DoubleShot Mix varieties have an upright, bushy habit. Old garden favorites with thoroughly modern appeal, snaps are perfect for adding a tall accent to butterfly and cottage gardens and look their best when grouped or massed in garden beds and borders as well as in containers. Snapdragons are a must-have in a cutting garden.
Easy to grow from seed, DoubleShot snapdragons grow best in sunny to partially sunny spots with moist, organically rich, well-drained soils, but any good garden soil will do. If soil is hard and compacted, add some compost. Snaps have excellent frost and light freeze resistance. Fertilize during the growing season for optimal growth, and deadhead frequently throughout summer to keep plants blooming. Deer typically leave snapdragons alone.
