Description / Tournament of Roses Grandiflora Rose
Let the celebration begin! Named in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Tournament of Roses Parade, this award-winning grandiflora lives up to and beyond its weighty title. Classic pointed coral buds open to reveal perfectly sculpted pink blooms up to 4 inches widejust right for the vase, the garden, and the flower show.
A standout in any setting, Tournament of Roses is not fussy to grow in any way. It's a perpetual bloomer, meaning that instead of its flowers arising in waves with breaks between each flush, new buds set continuously all summer long. Few roses can boast this ability, but Tournament of Roses is not like most other roses.
The flowers are fully double, packed with about 40 petals and held in the classic high-centered, reflexed hybrid tea style on sturdy 15-inch long stems (just made for cutting). The fragrance is powerful, a sweet old-rose aroma that may remind you of gardens long ago. Simply enchanting!
Tournament of Roses was bred by our friends at Jackson & Perkins an released in 1987. It immediately won an All-America Rose Selection (AARS). It is a tall, well-branched, thorny plant, better in warm climates than cooler ones, and prepared to grow and bloom for decades. Treat yourself to the very best. Make Tournament of Roses part of your garden.
