Description / Narcissus 'Mount Hood'
An heirloom from great-grandmother's garden, Mount Hood has been delighting gardeners since 1938, and it just seems to be increasing in popularity! And why not? The trumpets of these gorgeous, long-lasting 4-inch blooms open cream and change to pure white, matching the snowy petals that surround it. So good-looking in garden or vase!
Mount Hood reaches 15 to 17 inches tall and blooms in midseason in the sunny garden. It's a good choice for southern climates, showing more adaptability and eagerness to naturalize than many other varieties. And everyone loves Mount Hood's good looks!
Like all Daffodils, it is left alone by nibbling animals (including deer!), and over time it multiplies into large, glorious drifts. Just give it good drainage and full sunshine, and let its foliage die back gradually after the flower has faded. That's all it needs for year after year of beauty! RHS Awarded. Plant about 5 bulbs per square foot. Zones 4-8.
