Description / Sedum Sunsparkler® Blue Pearl
Drama in the garden doesn't have to be tall to stand outSedum Sunsparkler® Blue Pearl proves it! Reaching just 6 to 8 inches in height, its stunning blue-plum foliage steals the show from spring through fall, retaining its color even during hot summer days. By late summer, the display is amplified with clusters of hot pink flowers that attract bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies.
Commonly called stonecrop, Sunsparkler Blue Pearl (Sedum hybrid) is a low-growing perennial (Zones 3-9) with a spreading, mounded habit. It works beautifully as ground cover, in patio pots, or massed in beds, borders, or rock gardens. Its easy-going nature means it spreads without taking over and can be divided as needed.
This low-maintenance, sun-loving sedum tolerates heat, drought, and less-than-ideal soils as long as drainage is good. Its water-storing leaves make it perfect for drier conditions, and deer resistance adds to its appeal for trouble-free gardening.
Plant Blue Pearl in spring, spacing roots 12 to 18 inches apart and placing them 1/2 inch deep.
