A Ligustrum ovalifolium, commonly called privet or California privet (although it is native to Japan), Good Vibrations is well-branched and has a compact, mounded habit, growing to about half the size of a normal privet, ranging from 3 to 5 feet high and 2 to 4 feet wide. The dense branching responds well to pruning, which makes it perfect for a specimen, formal hedge, or topiarylet your imagination run wild. Unpruned, the plant has a naturally loose, airy appearance, which is nice used in the landscape or as screening. It also makes a great container plant.
Easy-care, privet grows best in sunny to partly sunny locations with average, well-draining soil. It benefits from yearly fertilization in spring.
