Description / Astilbe 'Rise and Shine'
The vibrant Astilbe 'Rise and Shine' perennial blooms in large hot pink plumes atop very strong stems jutting above a graceful, fern-like mound of foliage. Long-lived and easy to grow, this Chinese astilbe (also known as false spirea or goats beard) prefers rich soil, light shade, and lots of water, but tolerates sun and drought better than most x arendsii hybrids. However, Astilbe 'Rise and Shine' should never be allowed to dry out, as regular watering will keep the foliage looking good throughout the growing season. The plant attracts bees but deters deer and rabbit.
With star quality and a structural, eye-catching formbig, bold, and beautifulAstilbe 'Rise and Shine' makes a spectacular centerpiece, a "thriller," in a "thriller-filler-spiller" garden container.
