Description / Cora® XDR Mix Vinca Seeds
Cora® XDR Mix Vinca is a formula mix of tender perennials (Zones 10-11), typically grown as annuals, offering season-long flowering, often to first frost. Everblooming, the large, showy, phlox-like flowers come in a wide range of pink and white shades in solid and bicolor patterns. With exceptional disease resistance, Cora XDR varieties are easier to grow than most. So, you can line your garden paths and fill your hanging baskets, patio pots, and garden beds with these beauties without hesitation.
Cora XDR Mix contains Catharanthus roseus varieties, commonly called periwinkle, Madagascar periwinkle, or annual vinca. Cora XDR varieties have improved branching, uniformity, and floriferousness. They have an upright, mounded bushy habit and grow well in garden or landscapes and make great filler for containers.
Low maintenance plants, vinca thrives in heat and humidity and grows best in sunny to dappled sun locations with sandy, well-drained loams, but it tolerates part shade and drought. Cora XDR varieties are highly resistant to ten of the most virulent isolates of Phytophthora nicotianae that cause Phytophthora blight on annual vinca.
Direct sow vinca seed after the last frost and as soon as the soil is warm in spring or start seeds indoors 12 to 16 weeks before the last frost and transplant after all threat of frost has passed.
If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.
