Description / Hydrangea Endless Summer® 'Blushing Bride'
A longtime favorite of European gardeners, Blushing Bride is a classic that lends an air of enchantment to any garden. Its large, fluffy clusters of pure white semidouble florets blush pink in alkaline soils or shade Carolina blue in acidic soils, a unique feature for a white hydrangea. Blooming on old and new wood, this big leaf hydrangea supplies soft pastel garden color all season, from late spring into fall.
This is an extremely versatile mid-sized shrub with an upright, rounded habit that makes it an excellent foundation or border plant. It is an especially lovely companion plant for roses in a cottage garden, given some dappled afternoon shade, or it can stand alone as a focal point. But the long, strong stems and lush dark green foliage make perfect cut flowers, so you'll want to add at least one (probably more) to your cutting garden. A few stems in a vase make an effortless bouquet or mix with a variety of blooms, greens, and bits for elaborate fresh or everlasting arrangements.
In the colder climates of its growing range, plant in a sheltered location with up to 6 hours of full morning sun and mulch heavily before winter. In warmer climates, plant in areas with some morning sun and afternoon shade and mulch in summer to keep roots cool and moist.
This is a potless item. Your plant will arrive in a poly bag. The root ball has been grown in a hexagonal design to minimize transplant shock and stress, and it is in an advanced stage of rooting to maximize transplant success. Follow the bareroot planting and care instructions, but do not soak.
