Description / Monterey B.t. Worm-Caterpillar Control 32 oz.
OMRI listed for organic gardening, Monterey B.t. insecticide kills caterpillars and worm type insects, such as cabbage looper, bagworm, gypsy moth, fall cankerworm, elm spanworm and many more, but has no effect on birds, earthworms, or beneficial insects such as honeybees and ladybugs, when used as directed. You can confidently use Monterey B.t. Worm-Caterpillar Control on fruits, vegetables, ornamentals, and shade trees. It can even be used safely on edible plants up to the day of harvest. The effective biological insecticide is in a ready-to-use hand pump sprayer. No mixing needed.
Monterey B.t. Worm-Caterpillar Control is a biological insecticide that uses the beneficial bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki strain SA-12 (Btk) as its active ingredient. This biopesticide works by introducing bacterial spores and toxins into the body of the insect larvae as it feeds on foliage. These toxins quickly disrupt, and soon completely stop, normal digestive functions of the pest insect. The infected larvae will cease eating and fully succumb to the effects of the Btk within 2-5 days.
Working as a foliage protector this insecticide is safe to use in your organic garden and is designed for use on a variety of edible plants including broccoli, celery, cabbage, turnip greens, mustard greens, cauliflower, melons, lettuce, tomatoes, shade trees, ornamentals, and many more.
