Description / Pro Hand-Seeder
This is the seed-starting device we've all been wishing for. Straight from England, the Pro Hand-Seeder is an accurate, easy-to-use, refreshingly low-tech approach to picking up and releasing even 30 dust-sized seeds safely and simply. No more buying an extra packet of seeds just to make up for the ones you'll end up double- and triple-planting (and then thinning out) because they're so tiny and difficult to handle you'd have to be a surgeon to place them accurately. Even if you're sowing petunias, coleus, begonias, poppies, lettuce, and other "speck sized" seed, you'll never waste a seed again with the Pro Hand-Seeder.
The principle behind this hand-seeder is very simple. The seeds feed through a needle, which is color-coded so that you know which seeds belong in which sized needle. (The seeder comes with three sizes, plus a long list of suitable seeds for each size.) Just snap the needle you need onto the syringe, dump your seeds out onto the storage cap, and use the rubber bulb to pick up and then release the seeds one by one onto your Bio-Sponges, One-Steps, Seed Flats, or directly into the garden soil. Release the rubber bulb to pick up a seed, then squeeze it to expel the seed right into its proper place in garden or flat. It's as easy as that.
The needles snap in and out, and they're color-coded so you don't have to figure out which seed belongs where. They store in a cap that also serves as a nice little reservoir for the seeds you're sowing. This is the same device used by professional seedsmen to begin thousands of crops each year, and now British home gardeners have gone wild for the Pro Hand-Seeder. I'm delighted to be able to offer it to you at such a reasonable price; it's really a lifetime investment for less than you'd pay for a flat of short-lived annual plants.
Today's seed packets have definitely shrunk, especially for the popular new varieties. Instead of 100 seeds, you may find yourself receiving just 20, or even 5 per packet. Make sure you sow every single one with Pro Hand-Seeder. (And take advantage of the fact that here at Park, we always throw in a couple of extra seeds on those limited-quantity packets.)
Just take a look at some of the seeds you can use with each color-coded needle:
Orange: Pansy, Snapdragon, Aster, Coleus, Impatiens, Dianthus, Gazania, Alyssum, Lettuce, Floss Flower, Portulaca
Green: Tomato, Pepper, Sage, Cabbage, Geranium, Marigold, Verbena
Gray: Petunia, Lobelia, BegoniaMake the most of your gardening dollar with the Pro Hand-Seeder. 1 pound.
