A mesmerizing houseplant, Calathea Medallion has a bushy habit of large, wavy-edged, emerald-green leaves, artfully patterned with painterly stripes and splotches in shades of green, white, and silver and prettily accented with splashes of the same pinky purple color that solidly coats the leaves' underside, which is beautifully exposed when new leaves first emerge from the base and gracefully unfurl and as they gently curl at night.

This tropical understory rainforest plant thrives in indoor conditions that best mimic its natural habitat of warm temperatures, high humidity, and bright but indirect light, often found in bathrooms and kitchens. Under optimal conditions, Calathea Medallion may grow up to 3 feet tall at maturity, but more often averages 2 feet tall and wide.
