Description / Curcuma 'Twitter' Ornamental Turmeric Bulbs
Curcuma 'Twitter' is a seasonal perennial that brings a splash of color to your garden during the summer months and promises repeated bloom cycles until late fall. This exotic beauty sets small white true flowers surrounded by striking pink bracts with vibrant green tips, which resemble petals. Sitting atop a thick, sturdy stem of lance-shaped medium-green leaves, the flowers make excellent cuts for floral displays.
Known as ornamental turmeric or Siam tulip, Curcuma 'Twitter' is a tropical species that?s a member of the ginger family. A rhizomatous plant, it will spread slowly. Ornamental turmeric thrives in hot, humid climates and requires a sunny or partially shaded location with well-draining, moist soil that is mildly acidic to neutral. It?s a thirsty plant that needs constant moisture throughout the growing season. To ensure the best growth, enrich sandy or clay soils with organic compost before planting and boost it with our soil enhancers in spring and summer. This plant is deer resistant and requires no deadheading, making it easy to maintain.
For a visually appealing garden, consider planting the Curcuma 'Twitter' in large groups or as an accent alongside blue salvia, euvolvulus, and caladium.
*IMPORTANT: Please note that the Curcuma 'Twitter' is not meant for human or animal consumption.
