These giant red dahlia flowers are 10 inches acrossno wonder they call them dinnerplates. Manhattan Island Dahlia is a chrysanthemum-flowered type combining fiery yellow and red petals for a glowing ember effect. When you grow it, you may truly feel as though you got the bargain of the century.
These double blooms are crimson at the tips, changing to yellow as they near the center. The central cluster of shorter, incurved petals is a warm shade of pink. Stunning!
Manhattan Island Dahlia grows 30 to 40 inches high, with stems sturdy enough to hold up the big blooms. Give it plenty of sunshine and fertile, well-drained soil, and you will enjoy armfuls of cut flowers for many seasons to come.
