Description / Fothergilla 'Blue Mist'
Gold Medal Award of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society
'Blue Mist' dwarf fothergilla offers multi-season interest to the garden. Bottlebrush-like white flowers cover the bush in honey sweet fragrance in spring, and frosty blue hued foliage carries the bush through summer, turning showy in fall with fiery shades of yellow, orange, and red.
Compact, dense, and bushy, this shrub works well as a specimen plant or grouped in a border or low informal hedge; but it spreads slowly by suckers, so it's perfect for native landscape plantings alongside companion plants, such as rhododendrons and azaleas. Its slow rate of growth and low maintenance make it a welcome addition almost anywhere.
