Part of the Zantedeschia genus, commonly known as calla lilies, 'Captain Fuego' hails from South Africa. In Zones 8-10, it's a tender perennial, while in cooler areas, it's often grown as an annual or houseplant. These plants excel as specimen pieces and are well-suited for containers, indoors or out, with three bulbs typically filling a 10- to 12-inch pot. For a striking effect, plant them in groups in beds and borders.
'Captain Fuego' calla lilies are straightforward to cultivate and generally problem-free. They perform best in sunny spots but can handle partial shade; in hot summers, morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal.
