Description / Nonstop® Joy Mix Begonia Seeds
Days to Maturity: 105
Typically grown as annuals, the F1 hybrid varieties in the Nonstop® Joy Mix Begonia are tender perennials (winter hardy in Zones 10-11) that bloom heavily and continuously from late spring to early fall. Showy and colorful, Nonstop Joy Mix Begonia blankets graceful cascades of shiny dark green foliage in large white, yellow, orange, red, and rose picotee double blooms throughout the season.
A highly popular mix, Nonstop Joy Mix contains tuberous begonias with a unique, compact, semi-trailing habit, dense with foliage and flowers. The multistemmed, pendulous hanging plants have excellent branching for a fuller effect in beds, mixed containers, and hanging baskets, outdoors or indoors.
Easy to grow, Nonstop Joy Mix Begonia varieties grow best in locations with full to dappled shade and rich, organic, well-draining soils, protected from strong winds. They stand up to heat and rain and are unbothered by most pests, including deer and rabbits.
Direct sow begonia seed into the garden in spring after the chance of frost has passed and the soil has warmed or start seeds indoors 8 to 12 weeks before the last frost date and transplant. If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.
This seed comes as a pellet. Pelleted seeds are small seeds that have been clay-coated to make them larger and more uniform in size and shape, making them easier to handle when planting.
