Description / Rudbeckia Echibeckia™ Summerina® Sizzling Sunset™
A member of the Echibeckia™ Summerina® series, a true cross of 2 generaEchinacea and Rudbeckia Echibeckia™ Summerina® Sizzling Sunset™ looks like a rudbeckia but has the vigor of an echinacea. Long- and heavy-blooming, Sizzling Sunset flowers from early summer through late fall in large, up to 6-inch, daisylike flowers with bicolor yellow and red rays and an orange eye and cone. And each flower lasts an extraordinarily long timeup to 10 weeks! Borne singly on sturdy stems, the blooms make bold and beautiful, long-lasting cut flowers.
Echibeckia Sizzling Sunset has a very compact, upright, mounded habit and a rapid growth rate. It is an excellent specimen or container plant but is shown to best effect when massed in mixed beds, borders, and foundation plantings.
Easy to grow and low maintenance, Sizzling Sunset grows best in a sunny location with organically rich, moist, well-draining soil but adapts to a wide range of soils. Sizzling Sunset is also disease resistant.
