    Plant Tulipa & Narcissus Yellow Mellow Blend Bulbs in early to mid fall, and in mid spring these spring ephemerals bloom in a sunny mix of tulips and narcissus. The solid yellow blooms of the Darwin hybrid tulips combined with the fragrant bicolor, yellow and white, double blooms of the narcissus create a bright, cheery display. Borne singly on tall, elegant stems, the brilliant blooms attract pollinators and make cute cuts for seasonal bouquets.

    Yellow Mellow Blend varieties have an upright habit, with the tulips standing 18 to 20 inches tall and the narcissus reaching just 14 to 16 inches tall. They naturalize easily, with sprawling clumps of narrow, linear foliage and showy blooms appearing year after year, possibly for decades, in ideal conditions. This tulip and narcissus mix is especially useful for erosion control in spring rains. Consider planting in large sweeping drifts in open woodland areas, in masses under deciduous trees, or in smaller groupings in beds and borders or in front of shrubs. Tulips and narcissus mix well with ground covers and other spring-blooming bulbs but also make great container plants and can be forced for indoor blooms in winter.

    Yellow Mellow Blend varieties are cold hardy—to Zone 3—bulbous perennials. Easy to grow and maintain, the plants grow best in sunny to partly shady locations with rich, fertile, well-draining soil. Tulips and narcissus benefit from yearly fertilization. Narcissus are disease resistant.
