Description / Distylium Spring Frost™
A very reliable flowering shrub, Spring Frost provides special winter interest as it is covered in red tassel-like blooms from late winter to early spring. Golden foliage, uniquely highlighted with red and white, is borne on red stemsa simply stunning combinationand holds its color well into summer when it eventually turns green.
A member of the witch hazel family, this spreading evergreen has a medium to fast growth rate, tends to fill out to the ground, and is adaptable to a wide range of soils and growing conditions. Maintenance is minimal. It is deer, insect, and disease resistant as well as drought and heat tolerant. It is a perfect specimen or foundation plant, but its many attributes are amplified when massed together in a low hedge.
