Description / Indian Summer Rudbeckia Seeds
All-America Selections (AAS) Winner 1995
Indian Summer Rudbeckia is an award-winning variety known for its huge golden blooms, rugged garden performance, and long flowering season. A recipient of the All-America Selections (AAS) award and the RHS Award of Garden Merit, Indian Summer stands out for its exceptionally large, daisy-like flowers, measuring 6 to 9 inches across. Each bloom features bright golden-yellow petals surrounding a rich chocolate-brown center, making it a showstopper in flower beds, borders, pollinator gardens, and cutting gardens. The blooms are not only beautiful but also long-lasting, both on the plant and in fresh floral arrangements.
The 24- to 36-inch-tall plants form an upright bushy habit, spreading 12 to 18 inches wide. Plants prefer full sun and well-drained soil and are drought tolerant once established. Indian Summer Rudbeckia is a great choice for low-maintenance landscapes and has the added bonus of being deer-resistant. Blooming begins in mid to late summer and continues through early fall, providing months of vibrant color just when many other plants begin to fade. It also attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators, adding ecological value to its ornamental appeal.
