Description / Trillium luteum Yellow
Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit
Trillium luteum Yellow is a beloved spring-blooming, wildflower that adds a touch of elegance to shaded gardens. Compact at 6 to 12 inches tall, it features variegated green leaves topped with golden or bronze-green flowers that exude a sweet, citrusy scent. Berry-like fruits attract songbirds, adding life to the garden.
This hardy perennial (Zones 3-9) thrives in dappled shade and organically rich, slightly acidic soil. Perfect for naturalizing under trees or between shrubs, it pairs wonderfully with ferns for a woodland-inspired garden. Once established, this native plant requires little care.
Plant yellow trillium roots in spring, 12 inches apart and 2 inches deep. As a native plant, it's eco-friendly, promoting biodiversity and creating a haven for wildlife. Unfortunately, wild yellow trillium populations are now endangered, but you can contribute to their preservation by adding them to your garden. Our nursery-grown plants are exclusively propagated commercially and never taken from their natural habitats.
