Description / Garlic Svea Organic Bulbs
Includes 2 Bulbs.
Sevea Organic Garlic is a hardneck Marbled Purple Stripe variety prized for its bold flavor and beautiful purple streaked bulbs. Each bulb produces 5 to 8 large, easy to peel cloves with a strong, hot flavor that becomes rich and mellow when roasted or baked. The attractive purple striping and full flavored cloves make this variety a favorite for home cooks and chefs looking to grow exceptional garlic in the garden.
Well adapted to cold climates, Sevea Organic Garlic combines outstanding culinary quality with dependable garden performance. This early maturing hardneck variety produces edible scapes and stores well for 4 to 6 months after harvest. Its upright growth habit makes it an excellent addition to vegetable gardens, raised beds, and edible landscapes, while the blooms attract bees and the plants can help discourage certain garden pests. Hardneck garlic is available for fall planting only.
Hardy in Zones 1 to 11, Sevea Organic Garlic grows best in full sun and well drained loam soils with average moisture. Plant in fall for a midsummer harvest, allowing plants to mature until only four green leaves remain and the others have dried naturally. Plants reach approximately 20 inches tall and benefit from cold to cool winter conditions for the best bulb development. This reliable organic garlic rewards gardeners with flavorful harvests and attractive, easy to peel bulbs.
NOTE: Garlic characteristics can vary depending on location, winter temps and length, and soil mineralization across the country.
