Description / Actinidia Kiwi Kit Pasha™ & September Sun™
Kiwi plants are dioecious, meaning they require both male and female plants for fruit production. Male plants pollinate female plants but do not bear fruit themselves. To simplify kiwi growing, we have curated the perfect pairing in our Kiwi Kit, including two varietiesa male and a femalethat work best together.
Both male and female vines in this kit are highly ornamental and easy to grow. They resist pests and diseases and produce an abundant crop of delicious, nutritious fruit high in vitamin C. The vines are dense with foliage and bloom with small white flowers that attract pollinators, including birds and bees. Additionally, the leaves can be cooked and used as an herb.
Actinidia September Sun™ Arctic Beauty™ (female) is a superior variety that sets flowers in early summer, followed by large fruits with smooth skin and a sweet kiwi flavor. The fruits ripen in August, yielding 10 to 15 lbs of fruit per plant.
Actinidia Pasha™ Arctic Beauty™ (male) does not bear fruit but can pollinate up to eight female plants. Pasha is cherished for its colorful heart-shaped leaves, prettily splashed with soft pink, white, and green variegation, adding a touch of beauty to any garden.
Kiwi grows best in sunny to partly shady locations with average, medium moist, well-draining soil. Arctic Beauty varieties are cold hardy to Zone 3 and prefer some shade, though too much shade can diminish the foliage color. These plants are resilient and not bothered by pests or disease.
Enhance your garden with our Kiwi Kit, combining the ornamental beauty of Actinidia Pasha™ with the fruit-bearing prowess of Actinidia September Sun™, and enjoy a bountiful harvest of sweet, nutritious kiwi.
This is a non-GMO item and is grown with sustainable and ecologically sound growing practices. Plants are 1 to 2 feet tall when shipped.
