The 2-inch, funnel-shaped blossoms appear on 6- to 12-inch tall dark green stems in hues of blue, magenta, pink, purple, red, and white. Their refreshing lemony scent makes them perfect for cut flower arrangements or simple kitchen bouquets.
Babiana Mixed includes varieties from the Babiana genus, which flourish as perennials in Zones 8-10. Plant these eye-catching flowers in groups of 10 to 15 bulbs, about 15 per square foot, to create stunning displays in beds, borders, or containers. With their long-lasting blooms, they're an easy way to brighten any space.
These low-maintenance flowers thrive in sunny to partially sunny areas with freely draining loamy or sandy soil. Plant the bulbs 4 inches apart and 4 inches deep with the pointed side up. In southern regions, allow the bulbs to go dormant after the leaves turn brown post-bloom, withholding water for two months before resuming care for next year's blooms.
