Sunrise Blend features Gladiolus spp. varieties, also known as gladiolus, glads, or sword lilies, that are tender perennials in Zones 7-10. For the best effect, plant bulbs in clusters or masses in cutting gardens, borders, or containers. In areas prone to strong winds, staking may be necessary to support their tall, dramatic stems.
These gladiolus are easy to grow, thriving in full sun to partial shade with fertile, well-draining soil. If your soil is sandy or heavy clay, improve it with organic materials like bark or peat moss for better water retention and structure. Fertilize sparingly after planting and again during summer to support lush growth and vibrant blooms.
