Description / Bonsai Basil Seeds The Kitchen Minis™ Collection
Basil Bonsai is the first herb addition to the award-winning Kitchen Minis™ collection of potted vegetables, which grow inside on a sunny windowsill or counter. No garden needed! Kitchen Minis Basil Bonsai is a compact plant that grows approximately 6 to 12 inches tall and wide. A fine-leaf Greek basil, Basil Bonsai has smaller, medium-green leaves that require no chopping for use in recipes. Greek basil is a favorite for tomato sauces, pesto, and Italian recipes. The leaves can be dried or covered in olive oil and frozen in ice cube trays for later use.
An Ocimum basilicum variety, commonly called basil, Basil Bonsai has a uniform, mounded habit and a fast growth rate. The plant can be grown in a pretty pot, indoors or outdoors, or in a small-space garden.
If grown outdoors, plant Basil Bonsai seeds in a sunny spot with moderately rich, freely draining soil and keep it well-watered. Basil Bonsai seeds can be started indoors 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting into warm soil when temperatures are consistently above 65°F.
