Description / Blue Moon Woodland Phlox
Some of the fullest, lushest blooms of any Phlox, these 5-petaled sky blue blooms will perfume your garden in spring, inviting in butterflies and hummingbirds!
'Blue Moon' thrives in any shady, well-drained soil. It is among the easiest and most beautiful of groundcovers, welcoming spring into the garden with a bold flourish. Rather than a tight, sprawling mat that most Phlox produces, Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata, wild sweet William) is more of a spreading perennial, growing about knee-high and naturalizing to fill out the area over time. Sporting bright, lance-shaped leaves, this exceptional variety is attractive from head to toe!
As the name suggests, Woodland Phlox is native to wooded areas, and this is why it thrives well in rich, shady, and moist soil. Plant it in a shady spot amended with plenty of organic matter, and give it a light layer of mulch, and enjoy the rare beauty of 'Blue Moon' as it spreads year after year! 1 Quart Container. Zones 3 to 8.
