Description / Kniphofia 'Lady Luck'
Adding a dramatic vertical accent to small spaces, this towering ornamental red-hot poker delivers loads of greenish buds that unfurl to bicolorvivid chartreuse and clean whiteblooms that eventually turn white, hold their color well, and make long-lasting cut flowers. The flower spikes sit atop tall scapes above an attractive dense clump of gracefully arching, strap-like, gray-green foliage and attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
This sun loving perennial grows at a medium rate, resists deer and rabbits, and tolerates poor soils and dry and/or salty conditions, making it a good choice for rock and coastal gardens. It is a fine specimen plant but is also a lovely option massed in a border.
