Description / Vaccinium Bushel and Berry® Jelly Bean® Self-Pollinating Blueberry
Vaccinium Bushel and Berry® Jelly Bean® Self-Pollinating Blueberry
Vaccinium Bushel and Berry® Jelly Bean® Self-Pollinating Blueberry is a compact and ornamental fruiting shrub that delivers exceptional flavor and visual appeal. This blueberry variety matures to just 2 feet tall and wide, making it perfect for patio containers, small spaces, and edible hedges.
In mid to late spring, white flowers give way to a midseason harvest of medium to large berries. The fruit has an incredibly sweet flavor reminiscent of homemade blueberry jelly, hence the name Jelly Bean®. In cooler regions, the plant's dense green foliage develops rich red accents, enhancing its year-round ornamental value.
Grow Jelly Bean® in full sun and well-drained, acidic soil with a pH between 4.5 and 5.5. It requires over 1,000 chill hours and performs well in zones 4 to 8. As a self-pollinating plant, it does not need a companion for fruit production.
This young plant, bare root liner, is the easiest and most efficient way to plant your very own berry patch! In the first year, remove all flowers to encourage root development. In the second year, expect a small crop with increasing yields in subsequent seasons.
Jelly Bean® brings together compact form, bright foliage, and sweet berries in one easy-care plant, perfect for small gardens, containers, and decorative borders.
