  • Description / Cocozelle Organic Squash Seeds

Days to Maturity: 45 from direct sow; Synonym: Cocozella di Napoli.

For well over 100 years, gardeners have been enjoying the super-tender, delectable flavor of this Italian heirloom, and we are delighted to bring the seed to you in certified organic form. An open-pollinated summer squash that may be picked young or allowed to mature to full size, this zucchini is everyone's favorite for rich, satisfying flavor.

Perfect for small-space gardens, this bush-form plant takes off early and begins setting fruit abundantly. Dark green with lighter green stripes, the little zukes look as good as they taste, and you can begin harvesting them at just an inch or so long for baby squash. You never tasted such succulence.

If you decide to let them reach maturity, be sure to harvest them before they reach longer than about a foot. (This typically takes only a month and a half.) You will find Cocozelle a great multi-purpose zucchini—steaming, frying, slicing, baking, freezing, and even canning are all terrific with this powerhouse of flavor.

To extend the harvest, be sure to pick some of these zukes young. This will stimulate new fruiting, keeping you in great eating for a few extra weeks. You will love Cocozelle—we guarantee it.
