Description / Espoma Organic® Bulb-tone® Bulb and Flower Food
Gardeners have trusted Espoma® for many years now, and Bulb-tone® is one of its flagship formulas. This easy-to-use, economical mix contains beneficial microbes that work to build the soil continuously, improving it around your bulbs and gradually in the entire garden.
Blended specially for plants that grow from bulbs, tubers, corms, rhizomes, and other manner of fleshy roots, this plant food contains bone meal and other premium ingredients to meet the nutritional requirements of these plant types. The NPK is 3-5-3 for gradual, long-term, slow release with no possibility of root burn.
The secret to Bulb-tone® success is a proprietary blend of microbes called Bio-tone®. This mix feeds the soil to improve plant roots' ability to take up nutrients. Used every year, Bio-tone® improves the fertility of the garden soil, as well as its aeration.
Make Bulb-tone® a regular part of your fall garden routine, and you will soon see the beautiful results.
Directions:
One pound equals approx. 3 cupfuls.New Plantings: Plant bulbs in loose, well-drained soil rich in organic matter at the correct depth.
Row Plantings: Apply Bulb-tone® at the rate of 1½ pounds for each 25 foot of row. Mix Bulb-tone® well into the soil. Place bulbs at proper depth and cover with soil.Individual Bulb Planting: Dig hole to proper depth. Mix a heaping teaspoonful of Bulb-tone® in bottom of hole with soil. Cover this mixture with a small amount of soil. Insert bulb at correct depth and cover with soil.
Bed Plantings: Spade the soil deeply and mix 4 pounds of Bulb-tone® thoroughly in each 60 square feet. Plant bulbs at proper depth and spacing and cover with soil.
Spring and Summer Plantings: When spring or summer plantings reach a height of 6 inches, a side dressing of 1½ pounds to each 25 feet of row or 4 pounds to each 60 square feet of bed.
Individual plants may be fed by applying a heaping teaspoonful around and 2 to 3 inches away from each plant. Dahlias and gladioli may be fed monthly.Established Fall Plantings:
Apply Bulb-tone® at the rate of 4 pounds to each 60 square feet after plants have bloomed. This will provide plant food to strengthen the bulbs for years of growth.Product Details
